Amul - India's Most Popular Ice Cream Brand

Amul, short for Anand Milk Union Limited, is an Indian dairy cooperative founded in 1946 and based in Anand, Gujarat. It is managed by the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GCMMF), which today is jointly owned by 36 lakh (3.6 million) milk producers in Gujarat. Amul has been instrumental in India’s White Revolution, which transformed India from a milk-deficient nation to the world’s largest milk producer.
